Jambouree Choir

Jambouree Choir was formed by Edna Auld, organist of St. Leonard’s in the Fields Church, in 2005.

The Choir and Cabaret singers rehearse during the school term in the Church Hall on Thursday evenings, the Junior Choir (6-12 years of age) from 4.45pm till 6.00pm and the Cabaret Singers from 6.15pm till 7.30pm.

The Choir and Cabaret Singers comprise primary school children, secondary students and community members. Everyone is welcome! There is no audition to join and everything is free. We have a number of singers, both children and adults, for whom English is not their first language.

Jambouree is frequently referred to as a ‘family’ and provides support, when required, both in the area of education and personal issues. The Choir works in collaboration with the Church, providing music for Services, Café Concerts and other Church events. Jambouree concerts are held in the Church in June and December.

The staff comprises Edna Auld Director, Fiona Brownsmith Vocal tutor, Gillian Munro Liaison and support for members and families, Lorne Heriot-Maitland, Accompanist, Gwen Boswell, Dance and props and Alan Laing Scripts and concerts Compere.
